Raul is the youngest twin. He is usually not as aggressive as his sister, neither he is as strong on his own, however when the crowd cheers him on he becomes stronger. He is not very confident most of the times, and relies his sister support. In episode 21, Raul wanted to have a Beyblade match on his own during the Beyblade World Championships (since he is known for his team work with Julia) because he felt he needed to prove to himself he is just as strong as Julia, and that he isn't bringing the team down. With his sister backing him up, he wins the match, proving he is also a strong blader, though he will still fight side to side with Julia.

Like his twin, Julia, Raul was raised by a circus troupe called Romero. Because of this background, Julia and Raul have an amazing ability to work together. However, since their moves mirror each other, they can be pretty predictable when battling alone. Being minutes younger than Julia, Raul is usually being bossed around. Wanting to prove himself, Raul proposed to fight alone against the Barthez Battalions. Julia, opposing at first, later agreed.

His bitbeast in Torch Pegasus, and his attack is Fuerza Valiente.

In the manga

The manga version of Beyblade introduces us a slightly different F-dynasty. Raul and Julia come from "the noble Fernandez family", instead of a circus, and Raul is given more attention than Julia, being far more confident and arrogant than in the anime version (although he is still the 'younger brother').

Another thing to consider is their grandfather, Pablo Fernandez (or old man Pablo), who is the best beyblade craftsman in the world, and whose Beyblades can even shatter steel. He build F-dynasty's Beyblades and also Tyson's (at a certain point of the story), but he only makes them to those he considers worthy.

They made their first appearance in volume 10, representing Europe, region A.
